Atlanta, GA. (October 30, 2019)– Refuse to Do Nothing is excited to announce the next event is scheduled for those wanting to help others: Pillowcase Dresses on December 6, 2019.

This Pillowcase Dresses event is to prep and assemble our RTDN donation for Little Dresses for Africa, a Christian 501(c)3 providing humanitarian relief to the most vulnerable of God’s children: little girls. So many little girls in Africa are left as the primary caregivers to siblings, and these dresses go as little ambassadors to plant in the hearts of little girls that they are worthy. This lets them know that they are wonderful, amazing children of God.
To date, 1302 dresses have been hand-delivered to Uganda, Poland, Kenya, Rwanda, Guatemala, Ecuador, India, and Zimbabwe!
However, there’s so much more that can be done! At the December 6 event, volunteers are welcome to come for as long or short as they can as every little bit helps.
Sewing experience isn’t mandatory - there are lots of jobs to pull this all together without sewing including cutting, assembling, pinning and organizing so kids of all ages and families are encouraged to come and help. Of course, if you are a sewer you and your machine are more than welcome!
Items needed are:
· Gallon size freezer bags
· Any size new or gently used pillowcases (a good excuse to organize your linen closet)
· Cotton fabric
· Thread
· Grosgrain ribbon
· Suitcases
· Financial donations for shipping
All monetary donations will aide in the airport checked bag fees which range from $100-$300 per bag depending on the country and based on a 55 lb bag. All donated suitcases will not be returned.
If you cannot attend the event but would like to participate, please have finished dresses or donations mailed no later than Dec. 6, 2019.
